“Once we hit forty, women only have about four taste buds left: one for vodka, one for wine, one for cheese, and one for chocolate.” – Gina Barreca
The newly opened Cheese Traveler is a haven for those of us obsessed with pressed curds of milk. Yes, there are plenty of great cheeses to be found around town but it is lovely having a store where that is primarily what they think and dream about. Being a big fan of Murray’s in NYC I can only hope that the store will expand and will offer classes. For now the experience is enough.
My first visit to the store, there were two women in front of me and the cheeseman was super helpful and giving them the best cheese tasting I’ve ever seem. I wanted to jump into their cheese conversation and start sampling as well! Here’s the thing that you need to get out of your head the Cheese Traveler isn’t only cheese. Oh no, they sell top quality meats, pastas, nuts and side items to really make you think about different ways to pair up cheese.
Store hours are 11am-7pm Tuesday through Saturday; 1-6pm Sunday; closed Mondays.
We can also be found at the Delmar Farmer’s Market on Saturdays from 9-1 at the Bethlehem Middle School on Delmar, NY
